This booklet is reproduced with the permission of John
Morris Jones's widow. It was originally published by the Ackers Trust in
1984, and is now very hard to obtain. It is reproduced here with only minor
alterations. Although much has changed in terms of industry, it is as a
snapshot of the locality around the Ackers that makes this valuable, in
addition to the detailed discussion of the watercourses along Yardley's
border.
