Scans from the Acocks Green, Olton and Solihull Journal
1911-1914
This magazine was published from late 1910 until June 1914.
It gives a flavour of the concerns and the social life of Acocks
Green at this time. There were debates about trams, buses, council
services, and politics, there were numerous meetings of a whole
variety of groups, there was advice on shopping. There was an
interesting article on Gospel Oak Farm, and the 1911 Coronation
celebrations in Acocks Green. These pages give a fascinating glimpse
into the period just before the outbreak of war.
Where possible we have removed references to Olton or Solihull.
We are grateful to Birmingham Libraries for allowing us to scan
photocopies of the magazine held at Acocks Green Library.
